Meagan Harvey

Meagan has been practicing structural engineering since being an undergraduate student at UBC.

She has extensive experience in Residential and Commercial construction with Wood, Steel, and Concrete. 

She has been the Chair of the Okanagan Branch of the Structural Engineer's Association of BC since 2012 with actively promoting engineering knowledge in the engineering community and with contractors. 

Meagan Previously worked with her father's company Mike's Handyman Services doing small residential projects renovation and design-builds.

Tanya Fraser, E.I.T. M.A.Sc.

Local to Kelowna, BC and a recent M.A.Sc graduate in civil engineering from the University of British Columbia, Okanagan. Her focus of academic research involves green concrete solutions and rehabilitation of concrete structures. Throughout university, she was involved in numerous extracurricular activities including engineering research, academic and technical clubs, as well, she was an advocate for prospective students with an interest in engineering. She has been working as an engineering student in structural design since August 2019. Her design experience includes residential construction from partial design of small scale homes renovations to full design of custom luxury homes, and experience with commercial construction.

Kaila Spencer

Kaila graduated from the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus with her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2021. Throughout her degree she held roles in a number of engineering clubs and societies, and was also involved in research focusing on using shape memory alloys in seismic damping systems for highrises and bridges. Prior to working for Mercury, she was in Lumber and building material sales, working with contractors and homeowners on a daily basis.

Kaila has been working with Mercury since June 2021, and is currently processing her engineer in training (EIT) status.

Blake Bjornson

Growing up in Kelowna and after graduating from UBC, Blake started his career with a consulting firm in Vancouver, BC. After an extended break, traveling the world and working on passion projects, he was drawn back to structural engineering and started with Mercury in 2021. Since then, his focus has been on residential construction and is continuing his education with SEABC.

  • 2022 - Started studies with SEABC 

Zach McKenzie

Zachary is a Civil Engineering student at UBC, Okanagan completing a co-op work term. He is local to Kelowna, BC and has many years of experience working in residential and commercial construction.

Zachary previously completed a co-op term with Wildstone Construction Group in project management.

Kevin Gourlay

Kevin Gourlay

Kevin is a local Kelowna resident and has been working with contractors for over 13 years.  

He is involved with community volunteer and spends lots of time with his two kids. 

Kevin is a trained Commercial diver and has a Certificate in Bookkeeping from Okanagan College.
